Tomatoes
Salad Tomatoes -Mainly from the Canary Islands and Morocco.
Other varieties include; Mixed Heritage, Yellow Cherry, Cherry on the Vine, Baby Plum on the Vine, Vine, Plum, Cherry (Pnts) and Beef.
Lettuces
Iceberg, Cos & Little Gem – Spanish. Prices are slightly higher than normal for this time of the year, due to cold temperatures in Spain.
Round Lettuce – English.
Chinese Leaf and Pack Choi
“Continental Style Lettuces” - Lollo Rosso, Lollo Verdi, Oakleaf, Curly Endive.
“Baby Leaf” - Baby Pousse, Baby Red Chard, Mixed Baby Leaf
Roquette - (Spanish)
Cucumbers
(Spanish) Prices are slightly higher than normal for this time of the year; however, we should start to see the first of the Dutch crop very soon.
Capsicums
(Spanish) quality is good and prices are around average for the time of year.
Potatoes
We have an extensive range of Potatoes to meet your specific needs;

“Gourmet Potatoes” (Local) Varieties include Pink Fir Apple, Anya, Black Truffle, La Ratte, Vitelotte Purple Potatoes and Salad Blue.
Root Vegetables
Parsnips (Local), Swede (Local), Carrot (Local), Celeriac, Turnips, Red, Golden and Candy Beetroot
All excellent quality and prices are very reasonable.
Spanish Onions
We may see some Chilean Onions on the market within the next few weeks.
“Forced Rhubarb”
Sweeter than outdoor Rhubarb and less fibrous with a beautiful pink colour.
“Seasonal” English Vegetables
Sprouts & Brussel Tops (Local) – Quality is good, and prices are reasonable. Ending soon!
Cabbages (Local) Primo, Savoy, - All very reasonable and the quality is superb.
Cavalo Nero (Local)
Red & White Cabbage (Local)
Cauliflower - (Local) Large and clean white heads. Prices are slightly higher than normal for this time of the year.
Romanesque – Mainly French.
Broccoli - Prices are around average for the time of year, and the quality is very good.
Purple Sprouting (Local) & Tenderstem Broccoli
Quality is good and prices are around average for the time of year.
Jerusalem Artichokes are at their best now, both French and English available.
Squash
Butternut, Onion & Spaghetti, French Crown & Musket Pumpkin.
Salsify - Dutch
Asparagus - South America. The quality is excellent; prices are around average for this time of the year (available as fine or jumbo).
Chantenay Carrots - Excellent quality, very reasonably priced.
Heritage Carrots – Purple, Yellow and White available.
Kale (Local) – Green & Red, the quality is excellent, and prices are reasonable.
Fine Bean, Extra Fine Bean, Mangetout & Sugar Snap - all excellent quality. Bean prices have risen slightly.
*Courgettes and Aubergines - Prices remain fairly high due to cold weather in Spain.
Local Apples
Gala, Cox, & Bramley.
Other varieties include; Braeburn, Royal Gala, Pink Lady, Golden Delicious and Granny Smith, all reasonably priced and the quality is excellent.
Pears
Varieties include; Local Conference & South African Packham.
Bananas
Prices remain static and the quality is excellent.
South African Produce
Plums, White & Black Grape, Apricots, Peaches and Nectarines.
Citrus
Mandarins - Prices are average for the time of year and the quality is good.
Seville Oranges are still available; however, the season is extremely short, and you should be looking to buy these within the next two weeks if you are planning to make marmalade.
Oranges (Mainly Spanish) - Available in 3 sizes Ex Large, Medium & Small, the quality is good, and prices are reasonable for the time of year.
Sanguines (Blood Oranges) - in season now.
Lemons and Limes – Prices are average for the time of year and the quality is very good.
Berries
Strawberries; mainly from Egypt. Strong fruit with good flavour. Prices are average for the time of year.
Raspberries; mainly from Spain.
Blackberries and Blueberries; mainly from South America.
Redcurrants; mainly from Holland.
Quality is excellent and prices are reasonable for the time of year.
*Pineapples
Pineapple prices have risen dramatically, and availability is short.
Melons
Honeydew Melon, Galia, Cantaloupe & Large Watermelon - Prices are average for this time of the year and the quality is good.
Italian Produce
Pale Aubergines, Fennel and White Onions.
Wild Mushrooms
Wild Mushroom Mix, Pied Bleu, Trompette, Pied de Mouton, Cepes, Chanterelle Gris & Giroles.
Best Buys of the Month
Local Carrot, Local Swede, Local Parsnip, Local Primo(Green) Cabbage, Local Savoy Cabbage, Local Kale, Local Purple Broccoli, Local Cauliflower, Chantenay Carrot, Celeriac.
